How to receive HF on the Quansheng UV series radios

This is a short demonstration on how to activate HF receive and change the settings on modified Quansheng UV-K5/6 and 5R Plus transceivers I have made a separate video on how to modify the transceiver for HF receive which you can see here    • Видео   These radios all use the same base PCB and frame from the original UV-K5 and currently all variants can be modified to accept an HF receive PCB. In addition to the PCB the radio has to be running CEC firmware which is being demonstrated here. The mod for these radios is fairly straightforward but is a bit fiddly unless you have the correct equipment (So please don't attempt this with your dads old school 60w thermally balanced iron from the 80s or 90s!) These transceivers are fairly cheap and lots of fun. The ideal radio to have in your pocket on holiday or out and about. The Si4372 gives plenty of gain and good performance so a simple long wire is sufficient to obtain good results If you have one of these transceivers and want it modified or would like one get in touch.
