Cincinnati Museum Center has a large collection of moving images which includes a variety of film and tape reels. This collection is a treasure trove of visual and audible local history. Country Hayride (Midwestern Hayride) was hosted by Henson Cargill in the late 1960s, when the show’s popularity was at an all-time low. However, Midwestern Hayride, which had aired on WLW for close to 20-years, was still a beloved Cincinnati staple. This performance showcases the many talents of Kenny Price, a Midwestern regular, who later went on to host the final years of Midwestern Hayride – and may be recognized by some for his time starring on Hee-Haw.
