Iran Participates in a Russian Military Exhibition, Showcases Missiles and Drones

Press TV (Iran) aired a report on the Iranian delegation to Russia’s international military technical exhibition on August 13, 2024. Marina Kortunova, Press TV’s correspondent in Moscow, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Defense Andrey Belousov addressed the delegations of “friendly nations” such as Iran, India, China, and Belarus. She added that Iran set up a large pavilion for the third consecutive year that includes Iranian drones and missiles. IRGC Brigadier General Ali Shademani discussed his country’s cooperation with Russia, and he said that the countries have “common security challenges in the region.” He added: “This partnership is very promising.” Kortunova said that the exhibition included weapons used in the Ukraine conflict. She ended her report stating that the exhibition had a limited participation because it was held against the backdrop of fierce fighting in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, in which she claimed a “huge number of NATO mercenaries are taking part.”
