Folly Farm in Wales - great campsite but we had to leave!

We had been looking forward to staying in Folly Farm Holiday park and it started so well in hot sunshine on the first day of the summer holidays. Little did we know that we would have to check out early and lose a significant part of our equipment after working in sweltering heat in a UK heatwave for two weeks. Folly Farm Holiday Park is attached to the famous Folly Farm which started as a petting farm and grew into a full-scale and well-respected zoo with lions, rhinos, and Red Panda among many other animals. We were impressed with the facilities at the holiday park with massive pitches and we mean MASSIVE! They are all hard standing on some quite sharp coarse stones so rock pegs, lump hammers, and a strong footprint are essential. The toilets were very clean although there could be a few more for the size of site. There were also disabled/family rooms. Washing-up facilities were outside - much like continental sites although they were covered. The was a very good children's play area at the top of the hill and many walks where you could actually see the rhino in the park.
