Vietnam-Korea Institute of Scienceand Technology (VKIST) 베트남 한 베 과학기술연구원(VKIST)은 베트남을 상징하는 V자 형태의 배치로 호수를 향해 열린 조망, 도로 진입부에 면한 본관동의 상징성을 모두 확보할 수 있게 계획하였다. 남측 호수 변 산책로와 연계된 카페테리아 및 조망데크는 연구원들의 교류와 통섭, 창의성 증진에 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 특히, 중앙데크로 연구동과 본관동 등 모든 건물을 연결하여 시설을 이용하는 연구원들의 편의를 증진 시키며, 다양한 커뮤니티 공간을 제공하였다. 건물 배치와 형태는 고온다습한 현지기후특성을 고려하여 일사획득 저감, 대지전체의 바람길 조성 등에 초점을 맞추어 디자인되었으며, 건물 파사드는 베트남인들에게 친숙한 대나무를 모티브로 자연의 패턴을 형상화하고자 하였다. 그 외에도 실내와 옥상 녹화, 재활용자재활용 등 다각적인 친환경 건축 조성을 위한 노력이 있었다. With the V-shaped site plan layout emblematizing Vietnam, the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) was planned to secure both the open view toward the lake and the symbolism of the main building facing the road entrance. The cafeteria and observation deck connected to the promenade along the lake on the south side are expected to boost the researchers’ creativity, communication and consilience. In particular, all buildings including research building and main building are connected to the central deck to improve the convenience of researchers using the facilities and provide various community spaces. The site layout and building massing were designed with a focus on reducing solar hear gain and creating a wind path throughout the site, considering high temperature and humidity of local climate. Especially, the façade of the building was embodied the pattern of nature with the motif of bamboo, which is familiar to Vietnamese people.
