As I continue making progress on the Hayley Guitars SubTonic Bass Guitar build, I realized I didn't have a notched straightedge for the 32" scale length neck. After looking around online, I couldn't find anyone selling a notched straightedge in that scale length. Its time to make my own. I picked up a piece of 1/8" Aluminum flat stock from the hardware store. After marking out the fret locations, I used the table saw to cut notches for the frets. (Yes, you can cut aluminum with your table saw) After a little cleanup with a file, I now have a custom made notched straightedge for my guitar build. You can use this method to make any scale length you need. Its inexpensive and easy to do. ** Affiliate (Commissions Earned) Links to Products Used ** 12" Nicholson File - https://amzn.to/3SD0YDE File Card - https://amzn.to/4dr3cO9 Nicholson File Set - https://amzn.to/3Aj5gtf Drill Bit Set - https://amzn.to/4d7uWb3 ** Visit My Website ** https://www.homebuiltworkshop.com/ ** Check Out My Handmade Guitars ** https://www.hayleyguitars.com/ ** Save 10% and get some awesome CA Glue from Starbond ** https://bit.ly/2WJmxbL ** Ways To Support HBW ** https://www.homebuiltworkshop.com/sup... ** My TeeSpring Store ** https://teespring.com/stores/home-bui... ** Check out my Amazon Shop ** https://www.amazon.com/shop/homebuilt... ** Join the HBW Built not Bought Facebook Group ** www.facebook.com/groups/homebuiltworkshop/ ** Connect on Social Media ** / homebuiltshop / homebuiltshop / homebuiltshop / homebuiltshop ** My Mailing Address ** Home Built Workshop LLC P.O.
