Think OUTSIDE the pentatonic box with these AWESOME scale shapes!

Downloadable TABS, bonus lessons, backing tracks, and MORE available on my Patreon page!   / benellerguitars   ! This week, you all are also getting a super sweet bonus lesson showing you how to adapt my favorite 2+3 pentatonic pattern into a sweet blues scale shape! You're gonna love it! Tabs/charts for all these patterns can be found on my instagram: BenEllerGuitars #unclebenspentatonicpatterns Hey guys! Its your good buddy, Uncle Ben Eller, and i'm here with a guitar lesson EVERYONE can use! Do you get tired of playing the same old lame old minor pentatonic box shape? Are your licks starting to sound JUST LIKE everybody else's? Well, thats partially because our scale patterns GREATLY affect our phrasing, and if you only know the same box shape everyone else uses, you're probably going to end up sounding a lot like them! In this lesson, i'm going to show you how to reinvent your playing by breaking outside of the box and using some weird new ways of playing this familiar scale! I've got several different 2+3 scale shapes i use all the time; they're great for sequenced licks like Paul Gilbert, legato patterns, and even economy picking. I've got a 3+1 shape that guys like Dweezil Zappa use all the time for crazy fluid sweep picking licks, and even a crazy 4 note per string tapped string skipping shape that will get you into that Guthrie Govan fusion turf in a hurry! There's something for everybody here, and you can use these in ANY style of music, whether you're a rock, metal, blues, jazz, or country player! Charts for all these patterns are on screen, so its easy to follow along with, even if you're a beginner. Learn these scale shapes, and you'll be mixing up your phrasing in a hurry! I'm playing my Suhr Modern Satin into the Fractal Axe FX 3 today. Let me know what you want to learn next in the comments section below!!!
