In a bowl add the washed moong dal. 2. To the dal, add salt, turmeric, red chilli & coriander powders and give it a nice mix. 3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add sliced garlic and sauté till golden brown. 4. Then add the hing followed by green chillies. 5. Now, add the spiced up moong dal to the cooker and sauté for a few minutes. 6. As you see oil releasing from the sides, add water and give it a stir. 7. Close the cooker with it’s lid and give it just 1 whistle. Immediately after the first whistle switch off the flame and remove the pressure cooker off of the stove. 8. Let the pressure release completely then open the lid. 9. With the help of a wooden churner (mathani), churn the dal a little to get the perfect consistency. You can adjust the consistency by adding water but add as much as you want, all at one time. 10. Then give it a couple of quick boils till you get the right consistency. 11. Finally squeeze in fresh lemon juice and turn off the flame. 12. Add freshly chopped coriander leaves, give it a stir and pour into to a serving bowl.
