2007 - 2014 GM Truck AFM 5.3L V8 P0300 DTC Single Cylinder Misfire Diagnosis & Repair (Chevy & GMC)

In this repair video we will go over how to diagnose and repair one common cause for a single cylinder misfire related P0300 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on GMT900 type trucks with the 5.3L V8 engines equipped with Active Fuel Management (AFM). There are many possible causes for the P0300 generic misfire DTC in GM trucks, this video is about just one of the simplest and most likely ones due to the oil consumption problem inherent with this particular GM AFM engine and the long term negative effects it presents. In addition we take care of removing all of the out of OEM resistance specification aftermarket ignition plug wires. Correct OEM resistance in the plug wires is important to avoid excessive electromagnetic interference (EMI), which can negatively impact radio station reception or noise artifacts thru the factory sound system. The truck illustrated is a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche LT Z71 Black Diamond Edition with the RPO LC9 5.3L V8, but the OEM part number(s), procedure and tools shown in this video would be applicable for any GMT900 style 2007 thru 2014 Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon, or GMC Yukon XL with the 5.3L V8 and AFM.
