Lyrics: Here she comes, lady love When you give her it all but it's never enough What she's got is too hot You know you'll get burned but you still need a shot So be mine tonight And give me what I'm after I know you feel alright When you see my Power love Creeping up on you Power love Whatcha gonna do True love, now that's rough Will it still be around when the going gets tough If it's fate, it's too late When it's dragging your heart all over the place So be mine tonight And give me what I'm after I know you feel alright When you see my Power love Creeping up on you Power love Whatcha gonna do, gonna do Feel my power love Steal your heart away Power love Make you wanna say Take it all away Feel my power love Creeping up on you Power love Whatcha gonna do, gonna do Power love Power love Creeping up on you Power love Power love Power love Power love ------------------------------------------------ In 1986, Lion recorded the "Power Love EP" which contained the song "Power Love" featured in the 1986 Charlie Sheen movie "The Wraith". This film also had a memorable racing scene accompanied by the original version of Lion's "Never Surrender". In 1987, Lion recorded the "Dangerous Attraction" album, which contained re-recordings of the songs "Power Love" and "Never Surrender". A music video was made for this new version of "Power Love" and can be easily found on YouTube. This clip is my attempt to replace the audio with the original "Power Love", which doesn't quite sync up with the video perfectly, due to extremely minute differences in what I perceive to be contained in the gaps before and after Doug Aldrich's guitar solo, even after slowing down the tempo of the original track, which was ever so slightly faster than the re-recording. It is still interesting to note how faithfully Lion re-recorded this song, in contrast to their 1989 album "Trouble in Angel City", which contained re-recordings of the remaining "Power Love EP" songs that underwent more noticeable changes, including transposition of some of the standard-tuned original tracks one semitone down and modification of some song structures. Some other random thoughts about this band: I always thought the guitar riff sounded like Def Leppard's "Photograph". Going through the entire Kal Swan discography, you can hear a very distinct evolution in the type of music he recorded. He started off in the British band Tytan which recorded the NWOBHM album "Rough Justice", followed by the two Lion albums which were more typical 80s hard rock, continuing on with Lion guitarist Doug Aldrich in their final band together Bad Moon Rising which started incorporating more blues in their first two albums, culminating with their grunge/alternative third and final album "Opium For The Masses" where Kal's vocals are his strongest. Kal made one final appearance on the 1997 Doug Aldrich track "Millwall Brick" and disappeared from the music scene. Doug Aldrich has a talent for playing some stuff that I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to play by ear, including many of his big distorted chords and solo arpeggios, yet being extremely melodic. I cannot find live footage of Lion. There are some live acoustic clips of Bad Moon Rising for fans of Kal and Doug, the creative force behind both these bands, and some live video of Tytan, Kal's pre-Lion NWOBHM band. Lion only had one music video, "Power Love" (re-recorded version). Bad Moon Rising only had two music videos, "Blood On The Streets" and "Belligerent Stance". The two albums in between, "Trouble In Angel City" and "Bad Moon Rising", didn't seem to release any singles or videos. I have read about two supposed Bad Moon Rising tracks, "Millwall Brick" and "Union", which I have been unable to find. I have no idea whether the former is actually the Doug Aldrich track mentioned four paragraphs above, and I simply cannot track down the latter. My Kal Swan discography would be complete after that.
