Jeep Camping Gone Wrong In Winter!

This winter Jeep camp was meant to be a couple of nights and a few days solo snow wheeling in deep snow and soaking up some time in the wilderness. Unfortunately it was cut short by some challenging conditions in the form of compacted snowdrifts, a broken U joint and a bad storm with record high winds that almost took my tent off at one stage. Floatation was very difficult with my setup, especially with the granular sugar snow underneath the snow pack. In my stupidity I neglected to change the cheap U joints on the front chromoly shafts, and I didn't make sure I had spares with me prior to going out. So a relatively simple fix in the field turned into more than It should of. You live and learn. I cut my losses on this one and returned home early to repair the Jeep and get back out when the storm has passed. Despite the issues it was a good outing and its always nice to be humbled by these things and have an excuse to upgrade the Jeep! Thanks for watching.
