Do Bezels on the MM+ Make Sense for Game Boy?

Yes, basically I think they do. Look, with 4:3 240p games like the Sega Genesis they don't make sense. With a clean integer scale you're going to fill the entire screen (or very very close to) and adding bezels on a 640x480 4:3 screen like this would mean shrinking down the games image drastically! But what about handhelds like the Game Boy and Game Boy Color? They are very close to a square aspect ration meaning you're always going to have black bars at the sides of the screen AND to get a native integer scale you'll come to 144 (Game Boy resolution is 160x144) x3 for a 3x scale. This gives you 432 lines out of the 480 being used. Meaning you'll get very close to a full height game image but will have very small black boarders top and bottom. Just enough to get some bezel graphics in and still only loose a very small percentage of game size image! Integer scale will give you a sharper image and you only loose a tiny bit of screen size! So with Game Boy at least, bezels can make a lot of sense!! https://retrogamecorps.com/2024/09/01... Check out RetroGameCorps excellent written guide on using bezels with integer scaling on the many retro emulators with a 640x480 screen like my Miyoo Mini plus here. There's lots of nice examples shown with links to all the bezels (or overlays as they call them!) you'll need! This is an excellent resource so keep it handy and give the corresponding video a watch if you have the time (it's long but GOOD!)    • Guide: Shaders and Overlays on Retro ...
