Yamaha K-1020, elegant and simple looking, but packing real performance inside. After a full overhaul it still performs to spec, to this day (besides W/F that measured 0.065% and is extremely hard to get to spec on theese Sankyo mechs) and surprisingly performs even better than advertised in some areas, like metal tape FR wich goes up to 25kHz (-3db point at -20dB rec). This model along with other Yamaha decks have recently climbed up in price, most probably because people have realised their true potential. Overall in a summary: If properly serviced, this deck will satisfy it's owner for many years to come and will still perform to spec or better after all theese years, without needing a huge investment.
