We Built a Giant Gumball Machine that Catapults Candy!

Let's have fun with gumballs and physics! We built an interactive giant gumball machine that catapults candy using the educational National Geographic Magnetic Marble Run for our school's Trunk or Treat. We experienced with putting up different tracks and different layouts using magnetic connectors to connect them to different "tricks" like spirals, jumps, lifts, loops, funnels. Then, we made some fun Hello Kitty shaker cookies, using sugar cookie as base with the middle punched out. We fill the middle cavity with isomalt, a type of hard candy sugar that is flexible when melted and dries to nice glassy look, Once they are dried, we sandwhiched two Hello Kitties together with sprinkles in the middle and "glue" them together with chocolate and icing. We brought out all the Hello Kitty trinklets, hair clips, stickers, key chains, shaker cookies, ginat gumball machine for the trunk or treat. And last but not least, we offered some tasty cotton candy with pop rocks for the little ones.
