Hey everyone leaving the common guide that can be helpful throughout your nursing career For colab ([email protected]) Analgesic Classification NON OPOID ANALJESIC Acetaminophen: Also known as paracetamol or N-acetyl-para-aminophenol (APAP), this drug is used to treat pain and fever. Aspirin: Also known as acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), this is an example of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ibuprofen: This is another example of an NSAID. Anticonvulsants: These include gabapentin and pregabalin. Antidepressants: These include amitriptyline and duloxetine. OPOID ANALJESIC Opioid analgesics are frequently used to treat moderate to severe pain. Examples of opioid analgesics include alfentanil, buprenorphine, codeine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, methadone, morphine, oxycodone, pethidine, remifentanil, tapentadol and tramadol. COMPOUND ANALGESIC Compound analgesics are medications that contain more than one active ingredient to relieve pain. Some examples of compound analgesics include: Co-codamol: Contains low-dose codeine and paracetamol, and is available over the counter Paracetamol and ibuprofen tablets: Available over the counter Ibuprofen and codeine: Available over the counter Co-dydramol: Contains paracetamol and dihydrocodeine, and is available by prescription Co-codaprin: Contains codeine and aspirin, and is available by prescription Hope this video will help you guys Greetings to you all 😇
