3 Robin Trower Licks From 1980

Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Robin Trower Licks From 1980. Robin Trower is a unique guitar legend, as his career exploded as a member of Procol Harum early in his music-making days, and extended into becoming one of the most respected and influential guitarists on the scene after Jimi Hendrix passed away. In some ways, Robin became the next phase of Hendrix and many fans clung to him and his music in search of a fuzzy blues-rock vibe, which Trower delivered in spades in the 1970s. This lesson features a number of tasty blues-rock ideas from Robin, which came from a TV appearance in England in 1980, which was around Trower's 'Victims of the Fury' album/tour. The ideas shared here include a number of expressive blues licks and phrases, an interesting rhythm/lead idea you can play around with that appeared during 'Day of the Eagle,' and much more. There's a little bit for everyone in this lesson and I'm going to follow this lesson with a Chordplay episode based around Robin's music, as his lead work is outstanding and worth studying and enjoying, but so is his Hendrix-influenced rhythm style and chord-based ideas.
