BEGINNERS FLUID ART #8 - THE RING POUR

Beginners Fluid Art# 8 ‘The Ring Pour’ I have a confession to make… I don’t like ring pours!! They have always been my nemesis, so why not do a beginners video! Stupid idea, I’ve lost sleep over this one 😂. Seriously, I needed the practice and a ring pour is a bit like riding a bike, If you haven’t done one for a while then you need the practice. So I did 4!! Perhaps it’s the graphic designer in me, or my OCD tendencies but I like a ring pour to have clear, equal defined rings with no cells or crazy stuff happening… well that’s not easy!! I was sent some lovely Monte Marte paints to try, fully expecting the gold to sink… well it didn’t it completely took over! 4 ring pours, 3 use PVA and 1 uses Liquidex PM, (Video 9). I apologise in advance for the long video, but with beginners videos I try and not cut or speed anything up, in fact I did split it into 2. A lot of hours of gone into these and if I was to do these again I would use the Liquidex PM with all opaque paints and one transparent. But I couldn’t bear to throw away hours of recording and editing… that’s why you will need your favourite tipple, some cake and a good hour to watch these!
