Got this 1971 Sears 5hp outboard from a yard sales. Model number # 217-58991. The motor is not able to start at this time, and with a lot of unknown issues. My goal is to see if I can get it to run again. Today, we will do a 1st check, test the spark and do a simple clean to assess all the repair works needed. BTW, from my research the motor is made by Tecumseh - 2 cycle engine.
