Starting from Muir of Ord, we go to the Whaligoe Steps, a hidden coastal gem where we take on 365 steep and rugged stone steps that lead down the cliff to a historic harbor. It's a tough climb both ways. From there, we ride through Wick and head toward Duncansby Head, famous for its dramatic sea stacks and cliffs. After a quick stop at John O’Groats—often mistaken as the northernmost point—we push on to Dunnet Head, the real northern tip of mainland Britain, with wide views over the cliffs and open sea. This leg of the NC500 is all about remote landscapes, coastal cliffs, and pure riding on some of Scotland’s most rugged roads. Duncansby Head is is much better than JOG IMHO.
