LAKE DISTRICT FELL RUNNING | LORDS RAKE & THE WEST WALL TRAVERSE | THE BOB GRAHAM DIARIES

In this video I go in search for the West Wall Traverse. As a means for getting from Scafell Pike to Sca Fell it is a popular option for those taking on the Bob Graham Round. The other option is via Foxes Tarn gully and Foxes Tarn. There are 101 ways to get up any mountain but these two options tend to be the ones used when taking on the Bob. As mentioned in my first Bob Graham recce video I intend to do a series of videos covering the whole route. Whether I complete the series before I make an attempt on the challenge is another question. However, there will be small sections and bits of the Bob thrown into my overall training so don't be surprised if they keep cropping up in the videos that get uploaded. This run was done during November 30th 2023 and what a stunning day it was. Lords Rake and the WWT are a small part of a larger training run which ended up being 13.5 miles with 6,539 ft of elevation. As mentioned in the video it was two days before we had a large dump of snow over the Lake District. It was a perfect storm causing total chaos. people abandoning cars, hotels opening free rooms to stranded motorists and Cumbria Police declaring it a major incident. Additionally it caused an 18hr power cut in my area. Which was a pain in the arse. It always amazes me when this sort of thing happens and we seem to be so unprepared for it. Alas, it's all part of the grand tapestry of life and it's what makes living in this part of the world so enjoyable. Thanks for watching John.
