Our last video I explained what a stock cabinet was and now In this video I will explain the difference between Semi Custom and Custom Cabinets Get all of the items in this video here: https://www.woodworkerexpress.com/kit... As a woodworking professional with over 16 years of cabinet making and designing experience, I know that renovating your kitchen can be an overwhelming task for even a professional. That is why Woodworker Express dot com has put together a series of videos designed to help walk you through the whole process from start to finish. Semi-Custom Cabinets are a perfect choice for your kitchen. They are offered in standard widths, but depending on the manufacturer will generally have a broader choice of wood species, finishes and even depths. The ability to have deeper cabinets is not only great for design aesthetics It is also perfect for creating more storage area. For example a 12 or 13 inch dinner plate would not fit into stock cabinets but with semi-custom cabinets you can get a 15 inch and even an 18 inch deep upper cabinet for even more storage space. You now also have the option of resizing drawers and doors, adding roll out shelving, spice racks, organization inserts and more. You can even dress up the exterior of the cabinets with crown molding, cabinet legs and a variety of hardware choices to create a personal touch. Be prepared to wait approximately 4-8 weeks for Semi-Custom cabinets. Now let’s talk about the pièce de résistance or otherwise known as true Custom cabinets! Custom cabinets are built entirely to your specifications. You have 100% control over what finish, wood type, color, width, height, depth down to every last detail that you can imagine. There are a number of new options available for electronic opening and closing mechanisms that can be taken advantage of with custom cabinets. We will be covering all these options later in the series. Many of times I have had customers wanting me to replicate a kitchen that they may have seen in a magazine or friend’s home and custom cabinets would be the easiest way to achieve this. Although, custom cabinets generally tend to cost more and will most likely take a little longer than semi-custom cabinets to be delivered, you will be sure to get kitchen cabinets exactly the way that you want them.
