Welcome to ForB's English lesson video! This time we are going to look at this expression, "make my day." Can you explain the meaning of "make my day"? Let's watch the video! The illustrations were written by Yoko (  / yoko.illustrations888888  . ★ Check out Yoko's sites!   / yoko.illustrations888888     / yoko.illustration8   ★ Transcript Hi everyone and welcome back to ForB English. I'm Gabriella and in this lesson, you are going to guess the meaning of a new expression. This lesson's expression is "make my day". So we're going to have a look at an example conversation, which in this special lesson has been provided to us by Yoko's Illustrations. Thank you very much Yoko for providing this. Let's take a look at the conversation. The conversation is between a man and a woman. The woman says to the man "Do you want the good news or the good news?" and the man says "Go on! Make my day!" The woman answers "we won the holiday and we're getting a bonus." So can you guess what it means? Well, "make my day" means "make me happy" and it’s always used with some good news, so somebody has some good news and you say "Yeah go on! Make my day." "Go on" is often used before the expression, meaning "go ahead", "tell me". Let's practice this sample conversation together now. So you are going to play the role of the man in this conversation. Are you ready? Do you want the good news or the good news? We won the holiday and we're getting a bonus! Okay, so you should have said: "Go on! Make my day." "Go on! Make my day." That's all for this lesson. Thank you very much again to Yoko's illustrations for providing us with this anime for this lesson. Please remember to check out her website, which we're providing at the bottom of this video, so check out Yoko's illustrations and also remember to subscribe to our channel, so please like share and subscribe to ForB English.
