She says the Citizen Journalism module was perfect for her, because it tied in so closely with the community journalism she was involved in – but she was also learning new things every day. The course sharpened Aimee’s focus on what she wanted to do. She discovered a passion for helping smaller organisations and charities get their message across. She’s also keen to help them reach wider audiences, potentially using social media. Aimee now uses the skills from her course in two roles – editing the Rose Hill community newspaper, and assisting on a project that works with young people and adults in the area.
