Cilium provides modern multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud network capabilities combined with advanced security and observability capabilities to build secure and scalable infrastructure for a modern cloud-native world. Cilium has been picked by numerous enterprises as well as the majority of cloud providers to provide networking and security for their managed Kubernetes platform offerings. In this session, we will look into the roots of the project, how it started on the back of a paper in the Swiss Alps and how it turned into one of the fastest moving CNCF project and fastest growing infrastructure startup. Bio Thomas Graf is a Co-Founder and the CTO of Isovalent, the company founded by the creators of Cilium. Cilium provides networking, observability, and security for cloud-native infrastructure using eBPF. Previously, Thomas worked as a Linux kernel developer for more than 10 years at Red Hat and Cisco on eBPF, networking, and security topics. Thomas has been involved in open-source for more than 20 years and has been involved in numerous projects.
