For International Day of Immunology 2024, we spoke with three scientists from the MRC Translational Immune Discovery Unit about their research. Professor Hal Drakesmith and his lab are researching how iron and anaemia influence immunity and infectious diseases. Dr. Agne Antanaviciute, a Junior Group Leader in the Simmons and Koohy Groups, works at the intersection of computational biology and tissue immunology to understand how immune cells colonise in human tissues. Jan Rehwinkel leads a research group investigating the roles of nucleic acids in the immune response.
