Hi, Matt with etrailer. If you're looking for a good way to take your skis from point A to point B because while the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe does have a decent amount of space in the back, you don't want those snowy, icy, wet skis inside your vehicle, so the next best option is gonna be up top on your roof, especially if you are newer to skis. And a great option for that is gonna be the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier. Now the one we have today can hold up to four skis or two snowboards. But this will come in a variety of different sizes. Now really using this carrier is pretty easy. All I have to do is come over here, we'll find these large buttons. They're really easy to press. And that's something to think about when you do have those thicker gloves or mittens on. And if I am trying to reach my skis, it is gonna be a bit of a reach. I can barely just make contact with them, so I'm probably gonna have to step inside my vehicle and get them off, which isn't the best situation to be in, especially if there is snow outside, you could slip. So if you're looking for something that's gonna help solve that issue, I'd recommend checking out the Kuat GRIP ski and snowboard carrier 'cause that's gonna have trays that come out to make that process a bit easier. But with those skis removed, you will see that we have this rubber molding inside. What that's doing is helping keep the skis in place, not sliding around so they don't scratch each other up. And when you're done, you can close it up. You'll notice on the very front side of it, we have this metal lock core. This lock core is just giving us a little bit more security so no one can come by and take your skis. And the way this is gonna secure to your roof is it's gonna attach to your roof rack. So you need to make sure you have one of those. But we're gonna have this plate that has two bolts on either side that go through and connects to another plate that centers it into place. And this is actually going to have, at the very top of these bolts, these security spots. So you do have to have a security Allen key to attach this to deter theft. Now this is gonna stick up a little bit on top of your roof. Not too high though. And to give you the exact measurement, I can do that now. That's gonna be about 5 1/2 inches. Not too bad, like I was saying. What I'd recommend doing is just taking the total height of the vehicle, your crossbars, and carrier so you know what areas you can make it under, anywhere like a garage. Another spot to think about is gonna be underneath. Now this doesn't stick out too far, so if you do have a sunroof on the front of your vehicle, it's most likely not gonna make contact. But I would still advise just keeping it down for the most time so just in case you don't make contact with it. Now this isn't gonna take up a lot of space up top of our roof or our crossbars. We're only taking up about half that space at the moment. So if you did wanna throw something else up here, maybe a small box or basket, or even if you wanted to throw a kayak up here too, you'd most likely have the space to do that. And where these really excel too is if you have crossbars that have overhang, it just makes getting them off a little bit easier because if I didn't have any overhang, I would have to reach in a lot further, and that's where that Kuat GRIP is gonna come in much better. But in my opinion, I think this is a pretty solid option for you if you're just trying to take your skis from point A to point B because you're just starting to get into skiing. Now if you're someone who's been skiing for a while, and you want to upgrade, and you want the process of unloading and loading the skis to be easier, then I'd recommend that Kuat GRIP that I was talking about a bit earlier 'cause it is gonna make a big difference just being able to pull those trays out, grab your skis without having to get up real close to your vehicle. But if you are just starting your journey, then this will do you just fine. Well that was just a look at the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier on top of our 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe.
