Overclocking Intel Core i5 12600K to 5.4GHz - Tips and Thoughts

The Intel i5 12600K is one of the most affordable unlocked CPU models in the Alder Lake CPU line up. As I am very interested in 6-core and 10-core overclocking rankings I wanted to search for better chip than what I experienced with the 12600KF. A reasonable CPU should do at least 5.3GHz or higher in Cinebench R20 with ease. This one was clearly better than the KF in terms of P-core overclockability. The P-cores went 200MHz higher on water cooling, and I think with delid even 5.45-5.5 could be possible in Cinebench, and I could attempt 5.4 in Prime95 without AVX. For daily stable overclocking I was able to run 5.3/4.1/4.3 (P/E/Cache) for 30minutes+ in Prime95 without any AVX. AVX instruction sets aren't hard at all if you use high enough negative offset. The biggest difficulty comes from the warmer temperatures at the same voltage you need for the highest non-avx speeds. I look forward to testingt this CPU on LN2. For budget user I would recommend either the 6-Core models like the 12600K or KF or a very cheap locked CPU like the 12300 or 12100F.
