Sabita Chowdhury, wife of the legendary composer Salil Chowdhury requires no introduction in the world of Bengali Modern Songs or Bengali Film Songs. This compilation album is a classic collection of Sabita Chowdhury's Hit Bengali Songs, composed by the great Salil Chowdhury. Some songs are duets with her daughter Antara Chowdhury, another great singer from the Bengali Modern Songs lineage. Although Salil Chowdhury used Lata Mangeshkar to revolutionize the Bengali Modern Songs with unforgettable songs like 'Na Jeo na', 'Jaa re ure ja re paakhi' etc, Sabita Chowdhury's role was also phenomenal in reshaping the genre of Modern Bengali Songs. With 'Ene de enede jhoomka' she really burst into the scene and became a much loved singer in Bengal. She was a perfect match for Salil Chowdhury and became an expert in 'Salil-Sangeet'. In fact Sabita Chowdhury recorded most number of songs for Salil Chowdhury. The children's lullaby sung by Antara Chowdhury and Sabita Chowdhury are still the standard benchmarks in this genre.
