Making My Wedding Dress

Making my own wedding dress was such a wonderful and unique experience. 🤍 I was inspired by our Havana Nights theme and the art deco styles of the 1920’s. I have been designing this dress in my head since I started making dresses and it was so gratifying to see this design come to life. ✨ I knew immediately that I wanted to use Circulo Natural Cotton with silver metallic thread. I am so grateful to them for sending the perfect yarn 🧶💕 I used glass beads and freshwater pearls to create the beaded details. Working with real pearls was no small task but it elevated the dress so much. I have to give a special shout out to my sister-in-law Jasmine who is also a stellar Crocheter. I could not have made this dress happen without her. She was very instrumental in creating the back details and figuring out how to make the perfect bustle. I am thankful to the gods and ancestors for blessing me such an amazing sister-in-law who also happens to be a great crocheter. How lucky am I?! 🤯 🪩🪡 Though it was a labor of love I have never loved a dress more and I have never felt more beautiful. I felt it represented me, my spirit and the love that I feel for my new husband.
