In Maharashtra there are various types of traditions of the most popular culture is Maharashtrian traditions. There are different festivals when these traditions are been always followed. One of the most famous cultures or we can say the tradition of Maharashtra is Dhol-Tasha. This tradition is been followed from old times. When the person beats the Dhol on the black circle it provides less frequency sound this beat is called “Thoka” in Marathi and the sound produced in ‘Thoka’ is called “Ghoom.” To beat the Dhol there is a wooden stick which is known as “Tipru” in Marathi. The other side of the Dhol which has another ‘Paan’ which is plain and is played with the hand the beat has given is called “Thapi.”
