If you are looking for a relaxing yet educational video on how to refinish a mahogany deck, then this is the video for you. I start out by using a stain remover from Superdeck. This product works really well at removing oil stains from wood. Sherwin Williams carries this brand. with low pressure I wash the deck off and you can see the old stain comes off like butter. You can also use a deck brush and a garden hose. Next I apply a wood brightener called revive. This is also from Superdeck. This brings back the natural color of the wood. Letting the deck dry for a day or two before sanding. Very light sanding. The stain remover will give the wood a little fuzzy texture that if not sanded off will show through the stain and you will have a slight silver / white appearance that will take some time to go away. The stain I used on this is Penofin for hardwoods. Natural. Roller and back brush to remove any puddles.
