From May, 1970 Louis Armstrong co-hosts The Mike Douglas Show with guest Sammy Davis. Satchmo sings Blueberry Hill and Hello Dolly. Mike & Louis discuss his health and the most important people in his life. Sammy Davis joins the gang with an impromptu version of Spinning Wheel. Pearl Bailey joins by phone. She and Louie seem to forget they're on TV. The conversion turns more serious when Sammy Davis reaffirms his opposition to the war in Vietnam and the Nixon Administration in general. Davis takes the administration & Bob Hope to task for blocking his ability to go to Vietnam to entertain the troops. Silliness ensues when gadget man Stan Kahn shows the group an antique vacuum cleaner and hair dryer. Notes: Some of the language in this episode is not PC. The "N" word is used a couple of times.
