It is key that you learn the important factors to consider when deciding whether to enter a cash game pot at the poker table. These include; position, opponents, stack sizes, implied odds, reverse implied odds & the table dynamic. Having position in any given poker hand is extremely advantageous. When you decide to raise in early position the likelihood that you will be in position post-flop will decrease as you will likely pick up callers behind you that are not in the blinds. The range of hands that you decide to raise first in (RFI) from the button (BTN) should be much wider than when you are under the gun. This is because you are always going to be in position from the button and will likely be out of position when raising from under the gun (UTG). You should learn good solid fundamental preflop ranges but be willing to adjust depending on your opponents and the table dynamic.
