Riello UPS and our own ‘power puppy’ Ziggy were proud to the Beaglelandia 2018 world record attempt. On 22 April a total of 1,034 beagles plus 2,500 dog lovers from across the UK tried to set an official world record for the largest single breed dog walk ever. The beagles and their owners, including Ziggy and our General Manager Leo Craig, trekked a 1.2 mile circuit around Capesthorne Hall hotel near Macclesfield to try and smash the current record of 783 Yorkshire Terriers set in Mexico on 9 August 2015. As well as the world record attempt, the event raised a phenomenal £9310.80 for animal welfare charities. Beagle Welfare and Unite to Care will use the money to rehome beagles and other animals that have been used in laboratory testing. Independent adjudicators are in the process of judging whether the walk sets an official new world record. Fingers crossed we’ll have fantastic news to share in a few weeks’ time!
