Northey Island in Essex is a haven for wildlife who live in the peaceful saltmarsh habitat. Unfortunately this vital habitat, which is also an important carbon-lock up, is under threat from climate change and rising sea levels. Did you know 85% of the UKs saltmarsh has been lost since the mid-1800s? We’ve been working on Northey Island for more than 30 years to strength and improve this important habitat and now we’ve reached a significant milestone in the island’s history. Find out how we're aiming to create 10 hectares of new saltmarsh, equivalent to 12 football pitches.
