Allotment Diary : How to Grow Potatoes in Containers

Planting this years potatoes in different sized containers.I am growing the potatoes in 30 & 60 litre pots this year as I had success with the larger containers last year.The potatoes are grown in compost added to the pots with additional fertilizer at the rate of 1 oz per 10 litres added.Then the potatoes are placed about 2 inches from the bottom of the pot and the pot filled up to half way. As the plants grow slowly fill up the pot with more compost leaving some of the top of the plant visible. Continue until the pot is completely filled up and just keep moist.
