We all know that Bear-king called Jambavan was an adherent servant of Lord Rama. But here are few other facts that prove the Jambavan was the longest living being on earth. 1 Jambavan or Jamvanta is depicted in many ancient scriptures and Hindu epic poems. 2 He is believed to have lived during both Treta Yuga and Dvapara Yuga. 3 In his past life, Jambavan was the Himalayan King, who had incarnated as a bear to serve Hindu god Vishnu. 4 In his young age, Jambavan practiced the custom of Parikrama of Lord Vishnu’s Vamana manifestation seven times. 5 He was supposedly present during the Samudra-Manthan, where he witnessed Lord Vishnu’s Kurma Avatar. 6 In the epic Ramayana, he helped God Rama find Goddess Sita and also led the Vanara army in the battle. 7 He was an obedient servant of Lord Rama during his struggle against the demon Ravana. 8 According to Kishkindha Kanda, Jambavan relieved Hanuman from his curse by reminding him about his immense capabilities. 9 To help the injured Laxmana, he informed Hanuman about the curative herb called Sanjeevani Vanaspati. 10 In the Mahabharata, Jambavan had offered his only daughter named Jambavati to Lord Krishna.
