It's a healthy snack made from rice flour, and it can be steamed or fried. Here's a recipe for making steamed Rice Fara: Ingredients: • 1 cup rice flour (200 grams) • 1/2 cup water (to knead the dough) • 1/2 cup chana dal (soaked for 3-4 hours) • 1 small onion, finely chopped • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped • 1/2 inch ginger, grated • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced (optional) • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder • 1/2 tsp red chili powder • 1 tsp coriander powder • 1/4 tsp garam masala • Salt, to taste • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped • Oil, for greasing Instructions: 1. Prepare the dough: • Boil water and slowly add it to the rice flour in a mixing bowl. Stir with a spoon to form a crumbly texture. • Once it's cool enough to handle, knead the rice flour into a soft, smooth dough. Cover and set aside. 2. Prepare the filling: • Drain the soaked chana dal and grind it coarsely with ginger, garlic, and green chilies. • Heat a pan with a little oil. Add cumin seeds, and once they splutter, add chopped onion and sauté until golden. • Add the ground chana dal mixture, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, and garam masala. Mix well. • Cook the mixture on low heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let it cool. 3. Shape and fill the fara: • Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a lemon). • Roll each ball into a thin, small circle (use some oil for greasing if needed to prevent sticking). • Place 1-2 teaspoons of the prepared filling in the center of the circle. Fold the dough into a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal. 4. Steam the fara: • Grease a steaming plate or idli stand. • Arrange the fara on the plate without overlapping them. • Steam for about 15-20 minutes or until the fara turns firm and translucent. 5. Optional: Frying (if you want crispy fara): • After steaming, you can pan-fry the fara in a little oil to give them a crispy texture. 6. Serve: • Serve the Rice Fara hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup. Enjoy your delicious and healthy snack! Subscribe for more recipes ‪@antimaakitchen‬ Thank you for watching .
