MotorTrend’s Week to Wicked Show found a 1967 Mustang Coupe rotting away in a Texas field but the Team knew that the Coupe could be a good donor for the overall structure and VIN number so they gave Golden Star Classic Auto Parts a call and ordered up the conversion kit. At the time, back in 2018, the sheet metal cost around $5,000 and the labor to do the conversion cost about $5,000 meaning that for about $10,000 the Team was able to bring the Mustang back to life and give the Week to Wicked build Team a solid platform to build out their pro-touring 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. When it came to choosing a paint color, the Build Team wanted to pay homage to the Gen 3 Mustang Coyote 5.0 engine (the first year of direct injection) that would be updating the engine bay so the MotorTrend Team found an exclusive, one year only color for 2018 Mustangs: Royal Crimson Metallic. Our friends over at Axalta provided PG Customs & Bodies with the Royal Crimson Metallic paint and we think it turned out beautiful on the Golden Star Classic Auto Parts Sheet Metal. Once the Mustang body was shipped to the MotorTrend Build Team in Santa Ana, CA, the car was prepped and ready for the 1 week thrash that took place in the MotorTrend Tech Center. Parts from the following manufacturers helped to complete the build: Chris Alston Total Control Products front and rear suspension system, Currie 9-inch rear end, Wilwood Disc Brakes, Ididit steering column, aluminum G-Force Engineering Driveshaft, Painless Performance harness / wiring kit, Old Air Product a/c system, ProCar by Scat seats, Dakota Digital Gauges and more. The team at MotorTrend’s Week to Wicked knocked the build out of the park during their 1 week Show that you can watch here on YouTube: • Golden Star Week to Wicked – '67 Must... In 2024, the team at Fully Torqued and MotorTrend are transforming the car again – this time from a pro-touring autocross ready car into a drag car. Keep an eye out for the new MotorTrend Show going up on their YouTube Channel in mid-2024 and you can plan to see this Mustang on the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour as well as at the 2024 SEMA Show.
