This whole video started with a comment on a different video a couple months ago. A viewer wanted to know what I would do with a hydrangea that wasn't performing well for her, even though a lot of people love it. My advice: There are too many great hydrangeas out right now to stick with anything that isn't performing for you. And that's how I ended up at Flowerfull Hydrangea arborescens, a new (in 2025) hydrangea from First Editions Trees and Shrubs. It's an improvement on the beloved but imperfect 'Annabelle' hydrangea, and I'm taking the leap and getting rid of my 'Annabelle' and replacing it with Flowerfull, which is bred for stiff stems, more flowers and better disease resistance.
