Explore Beautiful Railway Line through TEA GARDENS of Assam | Rangapara North to Dekargaon (Tezpur)

Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/abhinavlhb?su... RANGAPARA NORTH Jn to DEKARGAON (TEZPUR) Full journey coverage from Rangapara North Jn to Dekargaon (Tezpur) onboard 55721 Rangiya Jn - Dekargaon Passenger hauled by 'imported' 4000hp EMD GT46PAC 'WDP4' #20003 of DLS Siliguri (SGUJ), NFR. The train takes a very scenic route through the Monsoon wet plains of Assam and through the Tea Gardens. The video is captured from the exact next coach of the locomotive, so you will find the awesome sounds of the 2-stroke diesel EMD engine of the locomotive. This railway line was initially the part of Tezpur - Balipara Light Railway. It was formed in 1894. The 32 km long light railway had a 2'6'' Narrow Gauge (NG) track, connecting the bank of River Brahmaputra in Tezpur with the Balipara. It was mainly a feeder line of the river transport, carrying the traffic from the tea gardens in and around Balipara and Rangapara. After independence, the railway line become a part of the Indian Railways. The portion between Tezpur and Rangapara North was converted to Meter Gauge (MG) in April 1953, but the portion between Rangapara and Balipara was kept abandoned. In 1966, the Rangapara North - Balipara - Harmuti - North Lakhimpur - Dhemaji - Murkongselek railway line was constructed as an MG railway line, hence the portion between Rangapara North and Balipara was converted from NG to MG eventually. After gauge conversion of the line from MG to Broad Gauge (BG, 5'6") in 2015, the railway line was terminated at Dekargaon instead of Tezpur. Dekargaon is the newly built railway terminal station for the Broad Gauge (BG) trains coming to Tezpur, Assam. It is situated in the outskirt of the Tezpur Town. Earlier, during the Meter Gauge (MG) train service, the MG trains used to reach to the interior of the town, but during the gauge conversion from MG to BG; the train service inside the town was not found to be suitable for land and space constrains. This is why the Dekargaon Station was provided with terminal facilities. At present, less than a dozen of trains terminate at Dekargaon Station. In this this video you will enjoy the ride of the entire section, I hope you will feel great ! More videos from this section are coming, this is just a small beginning. The train stops at Thakurbari and Bindukuri stations enroute. The railway line is full of curve and speed restrictions, so the EMD locomotive frequently notches up and notches down, adding a treat to the railfan and diesel engine lovers.
