Corn Island is a beautiful gem off the coast of Nicaragua, and if you have the time (and love beaches) I would HIGHLY recommend making the trek out there to stay there while visiting Nicaragua. It's definitely worth it! Since both Big and Little Corn island are so small and remote, it can be a little confusing to get there, so I've laid out some options for you. Connect with me on social media for more travel thoughts and ideas! ✨ Facebook:   / deeoverseas   Instagram:   / deeoverseas   SUMMARY BELOW FIRST: Whether you are staying at Big or Little Corn you have to get to Big Corn first as the only way to get to Little Corn is by boat from Big Corn. FASTEST WAY TO BIG CORN ✈️ By plane from Managua via La Costeña Airlines, which will cost about 160 USD for return trip. CHEAPEST WAY TO BIG CORN 🚌 By bus from Managua to Bluefields, which takes about 8.5 hrs but only about 8 USD. From Bluefields you could take a 6 hour ferry to Big Corn Island which costs 12 USD (one way prices for both bus and ferry listed). PANGA TO LITTLE CORN 🛥️ There are two times a day this long speedboat goes from Big Corn to Little Corn (6 USD). Be aware that if there are winds and the water is choppy, you might be subjected to what I call the 'black coffin' which is a massive tarp that covers all passengers to help diminish the amount of water coming into the boat (you will still get soaked regardless of the black coffin being in place). If the weather is calm the ride is quite nice. GETTING AROUND BIG CORN 🚕 Taxis from one spot to any other on the island should only cost you ~1USD per person. The price does increase if going somewhere later at night. For my budget travellers you'll be pleased to know there is a public bus which runs every 30 mins and will only cost you a few cents to board. You can also opt to rent a motorbike or bicycle (or golf cart..?) to get around more independently. GETTING AROUND LITTLE CORN 🚲 Little Corn is too little, there are no real roads, and no motorized vehicles. You can choose either to walk to rent a bicycle.
