Wajik or wajid is an Indonesian kuih or traditional snack made with steamed glutinous rice and further cooked in palm sugar, coconut milk, and pandan leaves. The sweet sticky rice cake is commonly found in Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. It is called wajid in Brunei and Sabah. Kindly refer to the ingredients measurement as listed below. INGREDIENTS for Wajik/ Wajid/ Steamed Glutinous Rice Cake ■ 2cup glutinous rice (soaked up to 2hours, rinsed & strained) ■ 1cup sugar ■ 300g palm sugar ■ 1cup light coconut milk (to steam glutinous rice) ■ 1cup thick coconut milk (for sugar syrup) ■ 1/4cup hot water ■ 2 pandan leaf (knotted) ■ 1/2tsp fine salt □ reduce sugar if you prefer it less sweet Hope this video is worth watching.
