Love Letters from Jesus - Part 2: A Different Focus | Pastor Jim Cymbala | The Brooklyn Tabernacle

Pastor Cymbala references Jesus’ letter to the church in Smyrna in Revelation 2:8-11 to encourage anyone going through a difficult time in life. Revelation 2:8 8 “To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. Revelation 2:9-11 9 I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. __________________________________________________ Subscribe to our YouTube channel:    / @thebrooklyntabernacle   Stay Connected: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/   / thebrooklyntabernacle     / jimcymbala     / thebrooklyntabernacle   Give: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/gi...
