Demonstrating the power of a server fan. I keep this one as a replacement for my HP DL380 G7, just in case if one fails. These are hot swappable (you can easily replace them while the server is running). They are loud due to the high RPMs they're running at. Small fans need to run at higher RPM to produce the same flow rate as the larger fans do at lower RPM. Servers usually have their components tightly packed together in a slim case, so the fans also need to be smaller to fit in such case. And despite being small, these fans are nothing to mess with; the IT industry not only demands maximum performance but also the highest reliability in their systems, which calls for extreme cooling solutions and that's where cooling fans like the one in this video come into play. Not only do they keep a server cool but they keep it cooler, just in order to maximize its reliability, in other words: these fans "risk their lives", in order to maintain the maximum reliability - if one or two fail, the others have to spin faster, to make up for the loss. I hope you've enjoyed! ;) Thanks for watching! Please subscribe, rate and comment!
