Having finished the George VI series of Specimen & Proof Sets we move onto the Queen Elizabeth II 1953 Coronation set. George VI Died in 1952 with a very Young Queen Elizabeth ascending to the throne, her Coronation took place at Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953. We continue with "My Journey" into Historic British Coinage by taking a look at my Graded 1953 Proof set. It is my opinion that this is one of the most collected and sought after of all the Proof sets produced by the Royal Mint. Finding a "Virgin" set that has not been picked through by Dealers and Cherry picked by collectors is next to impossible, so putting together a high grade set is pretty tough.
