Three Thousand Feet of Terror: What Went Wrong Climbing Indianhead Peak

Well that did not go as planned... Indianhead Peak looms above the entire valley of Anza Borrego State Park in California. The good and the bad thing about Indianhead Peak is that there is no easily accessibly route to the top. While most hikers will take the standard class 2/3 western ridge approach, we were feeling spicy this particular morning and were in search of the infamous Southeastern Ridge, which offers miles of class 3/class 4 + climbing along the ridgeline with views down into the Anza Borrego and Palm Canyon valley below. Somehow, things did not go according to plan... WARNING: While this is a legal hiking route, it should not be attempted without proper class 3/class 4 climbing experience, safety gear, and navigation skills.
