Ex-IFB: My Shiny Happy People Story✨Why I left the Independent Fundamental Baptist Church

Why we left the IFB (Independent Fundamental Baptist Church) This is not what I normally post but I feel this story needs to be told. I watched the "Shiny Happy People" documentary on Amazon and it made me see clearly that hushed silence allows bad things to perpetuate. I was asked to "be silent" about Mike Zachary but now that the person I was supposed to be silent about seems to have mysteriously left yet another church (Lighthouse Baptist Church), I just don't want to be part of the problem anymore. Honestly this person will probably never show up at your church, but these situations and these types of folks very well may. I don't want to perpetuate rumors, but there are some cold hard things I saw with my own eyes surrounded by the mysterious disappearance of various church members/ friends. (They didn't die or anything, they just mysteriously left the church we were part of. The person I speak of was involved in the music program and the majority of the mysterious "leavers" were also part of the music program, just too many "coincidences" for there not to be a connection.) After we left, we spoke to some of the people in the music program who had already left and they also sighted the strangeness involved with this person as the reason they left. We love Jesus, the Bible, and this experience hasn't diminished our faith, but it has made our whole family more cautious and less trusting of those in charge of church. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because the consequences of "blind trust" in man can be really devastating.
