The Open Book - Jordi Forniés

Remembering past releases: 'The Open Book' This is one of my favourite piano compositions. This piece may not be one of the most streamed ones, but it certainly has a story behind it that makes it delicate, engaging, and powerful. The composition reflects the complexity of relationships, and I tried to embody that in my performance by playing a game between two people, with triplets on the right hand and eighth notes on the left hand. This creates a beautiful effect where the hands are not always playing simultaneously yet remain in harmony throughout. As a composer, I put a lot of thought into the meaning behind my compositions, and 'The Open Book' is no exception. It symbolizes embracing differences and being an open book to others. The video for this piece is also one of my favourites, with two excellent dancers who seem to be searching for each other despite only sometimes being in sync.
