MaGMML3 - Mafia Man's Gambling Palace 0 Jumps

A super interesting stage. The idea is that you collect chips and you can use them to access shortcuts or make sections easier. In this run, I collect 125 chips at the start to access the first Token area shortcut. I also use 800 chips on Mafia Man to skip his fight. Getting that many chips is easy because there's about 800 chips in the last room alone. You just have to go a little out of the way, but it's more than worth it to skip the entire two phase boss fight. That's the only shortcuts I use. Paying off the other Joes is not worth it. The alternate path for the third Token ends up being slower than doing the rest of that vertical room. Getting enough chips to pay off that first Joe is surprisingly hard. The amount of chips the Chip Mets drop is random and the way they spray after they die is random too. So with the way I do things here, it's possible to not have enough chips to pay off the Joe. You want at least 79 chips after killing that first big guy. So the first part of the stage does involve some RNG. Pretty fitting, I guess. As for the rest of the stage, it's not too bad. Getting caught doesn't matter too much after accessing the first checkpoint. It causes Fleas to spawn and the enemies to get aggressive. The only spot where it can really mess you up is the part after the midboss checkpoint where you can pay off a Joe to open up some walls for you. I do a CoilJet in that room and all the enemies and bullets flying around can cause problems. It doesn't really matter too much after. I initially thought you couldn't pay off Mafia Man if the place is on high alert, but no. I guess it's only on that optional brutal mode. This run beats the previous 0 jump record, Yoshi2024's 7:15. For improvements, my midboss kill was suboptimal. Also, there might be merit in collecting more chips in the earlier parts of the stage to not spend so much time in that last room. Overall, execution can probably stand to be a little better too. You can probably sneak some more Electro Cables in there.
